Frank Wilson passed on August 6, 2024 at age 57 in Billings Montana, from a tough Cancer that he fought like a champion as long as he could. Among his life adventures, he was a regional musician who played in several bands and projects as well as provided vocal lessons at Hansen Music. We will miss his talent, personality, community strength and contribution to live music for the rest of us. Miss you Frank.

Franklin Alfred Cooney- Wilson, 57, a relentless warrior determined to defeat cancer, passed away on August 6,2024, in Billings, Montana. Born on December 19,1966, in Butte, Montana. Frank was born to Faye (Cooney) Wilson and Franklin Cooney.
Frank graduated from Butte high school in 1986. His passion for music began at a young age. His musical expression expanded across guitar, keyboards, and vocals. Frank’s captivating voice and powerful range delivered lasting effects on his listeners. His masterful artistry included creating music with the bands Soma, ZeN, Kicking Karma, and numerous others. His love for music was euphoric and Frank’s stage presence projected his charming character and engaging personality, creating an experience for his audience, making every note count.
Frank’s work career was in restaurant management. The most recent with the Subway team for 15 years. A special thank you to owner, Nic Eames, who provided devoted support and generosity throughout his career and his battle with cancer.
Frank is survived by his wife Kristi and their daughter Sierah, daughter Catelyn Wilson and grandson Elias. His stepchildren, Alana Jackson (Nathan) and granddaughter Aliyah, Malorie Sundheim and Elijah Sundheim. His mother Faye Wilson and father Franklin (Victoria) Cooney. His brother Kevin Wilson. Brothers Don (Reyna) Cooney, Morgan (Shannon) Cooney and sisters Jenny (Alex) Hamm and Katie (Daniel) Oliver, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant brother Jeffrey Cooney.
Frank’s unwavering faith in God was an inspiration to many. His presence will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy will continue to inspire and influence many, echoing through the melodies he created and the lives he touched.
